Educational Development
“THE GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT IS TO LIVE UP TO ONE’S OPPORTUNITIES AND MAKE THE MOST OF ONE’S RESOURCES.”
With this unique situation, there are 5 educational options available to Wildcats players:
Players taking educational options 1,2 and 4 attend classes at the various institutions in Moncton. Players taking options 3 and 5 (CEGEP correspondences courses/Canadian University courses) study each day in a private classroom monitored by the Wildcats’ academic consultant. Attendance and academic progress is closely monitored by team management, with the coaches maintaining an almost daily rapport with the academic consultant and the local school. Tutors are available, upon request, for players attending any of the 5 educational options. The mandate of the Moncton Wildcats and the education consultant is to lead these young people toward the realization that school will certainly enhance their hockey career aspirations and prepare players for success in life after hockey.
Success in school, as well as on the ice, is a winning combination!

The Wildcats goal is that players graduate from their program and move on to become professionals in hockey or professionals in other walks of life. The Wildcats have a tremendous success record in not only sending players to professional hockey, but for having a large number of players achieve academic success while attending Canadian universities. For example, in 2004 the Canadian University National Champions, St. Francis Xavier X-Men, boasted four former Wildcats in their line-up; Colin Circelli, Mike Smith, Bobby Reed and Ben Berthiaume.
