THE MONCTON WILDCATS – A HIGH PROFILE COMMUNITY TEAM.
Players with the the Moncton Wildcats become local heroes. From the youngest fans to senior citizens, Wildcats players are recognized and appreciated for their dedication and involvement in the community. This is an important aspect of the Moncton Wildcats organization.
Each year, the “Community Spirit” Award is given to a player for his volunteer contribution. It’s a coveted honor and players go beyond the normal “volunteer” commitment in competing for it.
Here are some of the successful community programs where the Wildcats play a leading role:

- The Party on the Pond
- Blue Cross Charity Bear Night where each year over 1,500 stuffed toys donated by the fans are distributed by Wildcats players to local hospitals.
- The annual City of Moncton “Santa Claus Parade”.
- The “Reading is Wild” Program where over 20,000 books are read each year.
- Tim Horton’s “Timbit Days” which has expanded to a two game event with over 2,000 minor hockey players parading on the Coliseum ice during Wildcats games.
- The Annual Downtown Moncton Community BBQ which each year attracts over 2,500 fans to meet the team and have autographs signed.
With the support of over 100 local businesses, charity groups, minor sports associations, two school districts and over 200,000 fans, the Moncton Wildcats are “Your Community Team!”
They play a major role in the volunteer spirit of the Greater Moncton area.
