Medical Staff
PLAYERS IN TOP PHYSICAL CONDITION INCREASE THE WINNING PLAN OF THE WILDCATS.
The Moncton Wildcats organization is committed to the health and best possible physical conditioning of its players. To insure our players receive priority medical treatment, two doctors and a full time athletic therapist make up the Wildcats medical team.

Daniel De Yturralde, (M.D., C.M., F.R.C.S(C), Dip. Sport Med. – member of the Wildcats since 1996 After obtaining a medical degree from McGill University in Montreal in 1973, Dr. Yturralde became a member of the medical staff of the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital in Moncton. In 1994, Dr. Yturralde was part of the core medical team for the Canadian delegation at the Lilehammer Olympics as well as being part of the medical team for the Summer and Winter Games. Now Chief of Surgery at the Dumont Hosptial, Dr. Yturralde is also the physician in charge of Sports Medicine at the University of Moncton. |

Ronald J.A. Fontaine, M.D. member of the Wildcats since 1996 After obtaining his Degree in Medicine from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Dr. Fontaine became a member of the Medical Corps of the Stella Maris Hospital in St.-Anne de Kent, New Brunswick. In 1984, Dr. Fontaine was named President of the medical team at the Stella Maris Hospital. He occupied that position twice in his career; from 1984 to 1987 and from 1991 to the present. Dr. Fontaine sits on several medical commissions. |

Guy Savoie, BSc.Kin, SIM, CAT(c), CSCS – Athletic Therapist - member of the Wildcats since 2005 Originally from Ste-Marie St-Raphael N-B, Guy Savoie graduated from the Univeriste de Moncton in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He was involved with the Student trainer program for 4 years at the U de M working with different teams and events. During that same period Guy became involved with the Moncton Beavers of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League for the 2000-2001 and the 2001-2002 seasons. Following graduation from U de M, he was accepted in Athletic Therapy at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. During his time in Ontario he had the opportunity to work with the University of Guelph and also as an assistant Therapist with the Mississauga Ice Dogs of the Ontario Hockey League during the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 seasons. In December 2005, Guy continued his studies and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He joined the Moncton Wildcats in the summer of 2005 and a year later became the team’s athletic therapist. |
